The new article published in the journal Resources, Conservation & Recycling deals with Food Waste (FW) accounting methodology, a subject of paramount importance in Europe https://doi.org/10.1016/j.resconrec.2023.106872
As significant result, the creation of a superstructure collecting different approaches used in FW generation ratios is highlighted. The paper provides a useful tool for the intercomparability of studies, for decision-making on methodologies to be applied in new studies, to frame their scope, and also, as a basis for the adoption of future policies at the national or regional level.
The published work is one of the results from the Maria Baquero´s Doctoral Thesis. Entitled, “Design of a biowaste management strategy using multicriteria analysis from a socioeconomic and environmental perspective”, Maria defended her doctoral thesis last December 2022, obtaining the maximum grading “Cum Laude” and the International Mention.
