From May 18–21, 2026, the international WASCON 2026 Congress is takingplace in Fukuoka, Japan, under the theme “Building a circular, sustainable society through construction with alternative materials and digital transformation.”
Organized by ISCOWA and Kyushu University, the event brings together researchers and professionals working on circular economy and sustainable construction.Our colleague Eva Cifrián is actively participating as a member of both the Organizing and Scientific Committees.
Today, she delivered the oral presentation “Circular use of red mud and fly ash in alkali-activated materials: Leaching and ecotoxicity assessment”, developed through international collaboration between University of Cantabria and University of Aveiro. Eva will also present several posters showcasing GER Group research activities in circular economy and the use of alternative materials in society.
