From July 7 to 10, our colleagues Lucía Pérez Gandarillas and Victoria Muñoz are actively participating in the 11th International Conference on Engineering for Waste and Biomass Valorisation (WasteEng 2026), held in A Coruña, Spain.
Victoria is presenting the paper “Leaching Behavior of 100% Waste-Based Alkali-Activated Materials under End-of-Waste Criteria”, developed within the framework of the Spanish State Plan project Environmental Assessment of Low-Carbon Cements (Project PID2022-138637OB-C33), funded by MICIU/AEI (Grant 10.13039/501100011033) and co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), European Union.
Lucía is presenting the paper “Technical, Economic, and Environmental Feasibility of Green Hydrogen Production from Municipal Solid Waste Generated in the Metropolitan District of Quito, Ecuador”, carried out in a International collaboration with researchers from Universidad Internacional SEK in Quito, Ecuador.
WasteEng 2026 brings together the scientific and industrial communities to advance innovative solutions for waste and biomass valorisation. The conference promotes the principles of the circular economy, greenhouse gas emission reduction, and the development of sustainable technologies for producing materials, fuels, and energy from residual resources.
